Job Description

Graphic designers help make our magazine look beautiful, trendy and unique. They are responsible for the layout design and graphics & images for the magazine. Our ideal candidates live and breathe design and stay up-to-date with the latest design trends. Graphic designers will have strong attention to detail, push design boundaries and constantly think on new creative solutions. The main design focus is print layout design, so a strong knowledge and/or experience in layout design & typography is much needed. In addition, graphic design support will be needed for smaller graphics and marketing materials. Candidates must have an excellent portfolio showcasing layout design and awesome typography skills, with a variety of small banner-like graphics. Web design is also a desired skills set, with good knowledge of responsive website and designing them in Adobe Muse. As of now, compensation will not be given.

Major Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for graphic & layout design of monthly issues, including all editorial and advertising content

  2. Collaborate with editorial team on artistic strategy and execute it for each edition

  3. Collaborate with promoting/marketing teams to design advertisements, in-house marketing/event campaigns and collateral material

  4. Prepare digital, print-ready files, including detailed production directions for printer

  5. Assist in the design & maintenance of our website

  6. Follow style guides for consistent branding

  7. Reviewing draft and final versions of spreads for accuracy, completeness, and consistency prior to sending them to the creative director for final review

  8. Report to the creative director with any concerns on assignment and availability

  9. Provide status updates on all current projects during weekly tear-up meetings


  1. Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite

  2. High attention to detail, strong organization & project management skills and meet tight deadlines are a must

  3. Ability to learn multiple style guides and apply branding guidelines throughout entire magazine

  4. Ability to work well both individually and in a virtual team environment

  5. Ability to dedicated various of work hours, as project schedules demand

  6. Reliable and responsive during all needed communications through emails and online chat
