Lee Hongki Keeps You Wanting More in “Cookies”

Lee Hongki has finally come back with a solo album! The mini-album, DO n DO, is filled with surprising and talented featured artists. Throughout the album, Hongki shows his charismatic personality and amazing singing abilities.

The title track “Cookies” is an upbeat pop track that features Jung Ilhoon from BTOB. Hongki’s beautiful voice and Ilhoon’s rapping match perfectly to complete the whole song. The theme of the title track is futuristic, most of the music video warm-toned with a mix of dark and bright colors. Hongki even shows off his dancing skills, which we often don’t get to see. In the music video, everyone is seen jumping up and flying in the air during the chorus.

“I Am” was released a week before the full album with a music video that features Cheetah. The song is an energetic track that shows off both Hongki and Cheetah’s playful characters. They are seen having an entertaining, but cute, conversation through the lyrics of the song. The music video even starts off with Hongki peeking through the crack of the wooden wall to surprise Cheetah, which then continues the whimsical track.

“Come to Me” is a soft, electronic song that is perfectly shows off Hongki’s beautiful voice, where he just takes over the song with his strong, yet precise, notes. Zuho from SF9 is also featured on the track, his charismatic rapping completing the song. “Bonfire” is a great song to sing while camping with friends around a bonfire, which completely matches the title of the track. The song also features DinDin, with his rapping making the song sound that much better. “Yellow” is a soft ballad that really displays Hongki’s soft singing voice in the beginning, which then escalates to his powerful yet clear singing. The last track, “Good Night,” is similar to “Bonfire” where his voice matches just perfectly to the track itself. The song makes you want to smile as you think about the happy things in life.
