TWICE Brings the Holiday Cheer Once Again

TWICE Brings the Holiday Cheer Once Again

Just a month after the release of their latest album YES or YES, TWICE is back with a special Christmas repackaged album! The new album The Year of YES features two new tracks: “올해 제일 잘한 일 The Best Thing I Ever Did” and “Be as ONE (Korean Version).” Just as the group had done the year prior, TWICE is back to bring the festive cheer!

“올해 제일 잘한 일 The Best Thing I Ever Did”

Who doesn’t love a sweet, warm holiday release from their favorite group? TWICE has proven before in last year’s release Merry & Happy that the group has the right flavor to fit the holiday season. While “Merry & Happy” has a more upbeat, peppy holiday feel, “올해 제일 잘한 일 The Best Thing I Ever Did” has a warmer, much more sentimental feel to it. The vocal prowess of the group really shines in this release, and it helps bring the cozy and nostalgic feelings of home.

The music video depicts a pleasant and wholesome holiday atmosphere amongst the members, with scenes of them playing in the sun-soaked snow, sitting by a warm fire to exchange gifts, and even enjoying a lovely Christmas feast. The colors in the video prominently feature toned-down greens, golds, and deep wine reds, contrasting the bright white snow. It is impossible to finish watching this video and not feel a sense of longing for the warmth of home and the desire for a bright and happy holiday.

“Be as ONE (Korean Version)

The additional track added to the repackage album is a Korean version of the original Japanese release “Be as ONE,” a soft and moving ballad that focuses even more on the smooth vocals of the members. For fans of gorgeous slow jams, “Be as ONE (Korean Version)” is sure to leave a lasting emotional impact even after just one listen. While these two songs are not nearly as upbeat as we have previously seen from the group, their soft and sentimental melodies are still fitting for the cozy warmth of the holiday season.
