Translators help bridge the gap between international fans and the K-world. They are vital part of our team and may assist with the editorial team to translate content into mainly Korean, in addition to Japanese and Chinese. Translators must be proficient and comfortable to translate long articles from English to Korean and other languages. In addition, translators may be needed for in-person interviews with idols. Advanced to native/bilingual fluency in English and chosen language is a must.
Head Translator is also needed to manage a small team of translators, in order to ensure focus and management are kept on track for assignments amongst translators. Head translator reports to the creative director, in regards to weekly updates on translating team’s progress and any concerns with team members. Leads will be determined based on language proficiency, leadership and management skills, and also willing to take the extra time to manage a small team. It’ll be ideal if the head translator is a native or bilingual in Korean and currently resides in Korea.
Translators will be part of the editorial team as a volunteer opportunity. As of now, compensation will not be given.
Collaborate with the editorial team to translate any length of stories or article from English to your proficient language (Korean, Japanese, Chinese)
Assist in in-person interviews with idols
Report to the head translator with any concerns on assignment and availability
Must have advanced to native or bilingual fluency in both English and either Korean, Japanese, and/or Chinese.
Ability to work well both individually and in a virtual team environment
Ability to dedicated about 2-3 hours a day, in order to complete translation assignments
Reliable and responsive during all needed communications through emails and online chat
